I was craving Vietnamese pork chops the other day which reminded me that I'd been wanting to make some myself... so I did and they turned out pretty well.
I tried a recipe that called for caramelizing the sugar first but the heat was too high so I burnt the sugar. I wasn't trying to clean out a burnt pot twice so I tried a different recipe.
I didn't have lemongrass or a grill so I did without and popped it into the oven. Yum! Definitely keeping this recipe.
Side note: when a recipe calls for anything more then a pinch of freshly ground black pepper, get a real pepper grinder that twists! None of this squeeze or push action unless you want to work out your forearms! Damn pepperball.
